Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone's Break Ke Baad is still regarded as one of the best movies ever made. In a recent interview, Danish Aslam, the director of the romantic comedy, discussed his close friend Imran Khan and stated that they are collaborating on a new project amid the many rumors of Khan's expected return. Aslam continued, "We will happily announce it to the world once things are locked."

Danish Aslam alluded to a possible partnership with Imran Khan at a media chat, although he clarified that he was unable to provide many details at this time. According to Aslam, the project has been the subject of media conjecture.

He further revealed, "Some of it is true, some of it is not. Unfortunately, it is a project which is still a work-in-progress. So, the moment things are locked and fall into place, we will very happily announce it to the world. But all I can say is that I'm working with Imran Khan on something."

Danish also discussed love comedies and his directing debut, Break Ke Baad. Despite not being a box office success at first, the 2010 movie starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone received praise in the years that followed.

Along with talking about romantic comedies and their comeback, Aslam and Imran Khan also unveiled their upcoming project. After talking to Khan, Aslam discovered that there was a market for old-fashioned romantic comedies, and the two became fast friends.

Aslam clarified that throughout the last three years, admirers in their 20s and 30s have messaged him and Imran, expressing a fondness for the simple romantic comedies of their childhood and a curiosity about the decline of the genre.

He noted that there is little room for classic rom-coms because contemporary rom-coms frequently contain social commentary or are big-budget action movies with a male tone. According to Aslam, there is a sizable niche market for this genre, with viewers actively looking for that kind of material.

The filmmaker is working on his next movie in the meanwhile. The Sayani Gupta and Prateik Babbar film, Khwaabon Ka Jhamela, will be available for streaming on JioCinema starting on November 8, 2024.
