Long-running rumors suggested a follow-up to the popular 2012 film Cocktail, starring Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday. reports circulated that they worked together on Cocktail 2, and their presence outside Maddock Films' headquarters fueled those allegations.

In a recent report, a media source stated that director Homi Adajania, who is working on Cocktail 2, which stars Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, has finally spoken out. The allegation appears to be untrue, as Adajania dismissed it with a laugh when contacted for comment, saying, "I have no idea about that." With that, he seemed to put an end to the rumors about the romantic comedy. Numerous rumors about Cocktail 2 generated a lot of discussion on social media.
