Bollywood's undeniable superstar is Shah Rukh Khan. What lingers in the hearts of his fans is not just his magnetic charm but also his modest and grounded demeanor. Joel Edgerton and Anasuya Sengupta recently recollected their first chance encounter at Shah Rukh Khan's home, Mannat. King Khan, she said, was his "magical self" and greeted them with warmth.

In a media chat, Anasuya Sengupta discussed her moment of stardom when she unexpectedly showed up to Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat in 2012. She recalled going to the superstar's bungalow for the first time with Joel Edgerton, a Hollywood actor.

She recalled that she was not entirely aware of the movement plan when she was heading back home after spending time with Joel and her other pals. To her surprise, the car stopped outside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat, and she "completely panicked." She recalled getting back into the car and telling her initial resistance to go to the megastar's place as she was in "a stupid and unimpressive dress."

Anasuya informed Edgerton that she would like to return home, emphasizing that she was not even a production designer at the time. But after a while she went, remembering that King Khan was waiting to welcome them.

She revealed, "He was there to greet us and be his amazing and magical self, and I just was dying. For those many hours that evening, I was like, 'Oh my god,' and selfies and phone cameras hadn’t picked up that much," she also recalled messaging her brothers and friends, who requested that she take pictures of the house and of him.

Actor Raghav Juyal, who was also in attendance, joined the discussion and related his personal tale of his first visit to Mannat. He remembered how incredulous his mother was and how she asked him three times if he had actually gone there.

For her performance in The Shameless, Anasuya Sengupta took home the 2024 Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress.
