Today, Madhuri Dixit hardly needs an introduction. The diva has managed to build a devoted following for herself, whether it is through her acting skills, dancing skills, or mesmerizing eyes. However, she was once referred to as the "jinxed" actress. Director-producer Indra Kumar said in an interview that he was dubbed crazy by people when he cast Dixit in his movies Dil and Beta.
In a media chat, filmmaker Indra Kumar, who has helmed films like as Masti and Total Dhamaal, disclosed throughout the conversation how Madhuri Dixit was referred to as the "jinxed" actress. Looking back, the director remembered that no one was using the actress for their films.
Madhuri had no successful films at the time, while Aamir Khan had only one successful movie (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak). “She was called jinxed. When I signed her up for Dil with Aamir Khan, it was still fine, but when I signed her up for Beta too, everyone said, ‘Paagal hogaya hai tu, iski koi film nahi chal rahi (Are you mad, none of her films are working?)’” revealed Kumar.
The director-producer added that by that point, an interview had surfaced claiming Madhuri is a jinxed girl and that every movie she appears in ends up being a failure. Kumar began working with her on Dil and Beta in spite of all the rumors. The director of Grand Masti declared that he had faith in the Kalank actress and felt she had potential.
The term finally vanished once the public witnessed her abilities in films like Tezaab and Ram Lakhan. In front of distributors and filmmakers, the actress's image shifted. She was already well-known when she arrived to film for Kumar's upcoming movie. On her first day, the Hum Aapke Hain Koun actor was grounded despite her fame and the audience's affection, and she remained the same person even after becoming a superstar.
