Richa Chadha opens up on people having ridiculous notions about her right after her debut!

When Richa Chadha participated in the renowned two-part criminal thriller Gangs of Wasseypur, directed by Anurag Kashyap, she had only acted in two movies. Nagma Khatoon is the name of the peasant lady she portrayed on screen. Filmmakers believed Richa's truth even though her job called for her to be a little less glamorous.

During a recent media conversation, the soon-to-be mother disclosed how she felt denigrated and that strange opinions were formed about her following the film.

 

The 37-year-old Richa Chadha earlier collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and most recently starred in Heeramandi. Richa recalled how he treats his artists, stating that he is a very intriguing creator who respects skill. The actress claims that SLB is certain that he can play a character the way he imagines them.

 

Richa Chadha revealed, “I have never heard him say things like ‘Iska kaam accha nahi hai, ya yeh sundar nahi hai’ about anyone.”

 

At this point, Richa remembered a difference she encountered in the industry, particularly following her role in Gangs of Wasseypur. The Fukrey actor recalled having to deal with certain "ridiculous notions," such as "She is older, she can't speak English," and how this made people on set pick her out from the rest.

 

“Some people would talk to other cast members nicely and talk to me in broken Hindi, assuming I wouldn’t understand English. I felt belittled,” blogged about Richa, questioning if some people's ignorance of her upbringing or education was the source of their attitude.
