Sanya Malhotra opens up on working with Vicky Kaushal in Sam Bahadur!

There can be no questioning Vicky Kaushal's brilliance as an actor. He demonstrated this via his performances over the years, as well as his versatility as an actor, and he continues to get better with each new movie. The actor, whose latest film Zara Hatke is now scheduled for release Future projects starring Sara Ali Khan and Zara Bachke are pretty intriguing. Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar, is one of the most eagerly anticipated films. The Masaan star is essaying the titular role in the film alongside Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. In a latest media chat with Sucharita Tyagi, Sanya talked about working with Vicky and what she learned from him.

 

Sanya Malhotra started by expressing her enthusiasm at the opportunity to collaborate with Meghna Gulzar. She stated that they wrapped up filming for Sam Bahadur in March and joked, "mera sara dimaag khul gaya" after working with Meghna. She revealed, “I learned so much from her. It was refreshing to work with her.” Later speaking about her co-star Vicky Kaushal, Sanya confessed that it was insane working with him. “He is the flavour not just for the season but we have a very amazing actor to look out for and I am so happy I got to work with an actor like him. He is insane to see him how he works, how he was, how he conducts himself on set was such a good learning experience for me as an actor. I was just blown away, he is just brilliant,” she further revealed.

 

After that, Sanya Malhotra was questioned about what exactly Vicky Kaushal's acting had taught her. Vicky being on set was a major deal for the actress, who responded with wonder in her eyes. He was Sam to her, she said, and Vicky was never that character to her. She revealed, “Day 1 on set and I was like ‘Oh my god this man has completely transformed himself’. And I joined them after a few months of them shooting. I met him for readings, in the office for prep and all but to see him on set as Sam was surreal. I was like ‘this man is not himself, he has completely transformed himself as Sam’.”
