Sharmila Tagore opens up on being 'absent mother' to Saif Ali Khan!

In Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan is regarded as one of the doting fathers. The actor tries to spend as much time as possible with his children despite his hectic schedule. Not only does he frequently appear with Jeh and Taimur Ali Khan, but also with Sara and Ibrahim.

However, his mother, seasoned actress Sharmila Tagore, has now come clean about how she was a "absent mother" and didn't give him enough time as a son.

 

A newspaper claims that Sharmila Tagore talked candidly about her errors as a first-time mother during a Mother's Day speech she gave for YFLO. The seasoned actress claimed that she worked two shifts a day and was quite busy at work when she gave birth to Saif. She also mentioned that she didn't spend the first six years of his life with him.

 

Sharmila mentioned that although she wasn't a full-time mother, she used to attend his plays and parent-teacher conferences. "My husband was there, but I wasn't. Then when I became a mother, I became an overzealous mother. I wanted to feed him, bathe him, and everything. That was the other side of the pendulum. I made a few mistakes, honestly," she stated.

 

Saif Ali Khan grew up "pretty okay," according to Sharmila Tagore, in spite of all of this. She spoke highly of her husband Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and their large family, mentioning that he was present and that her friends and family supported us. "One of his school teachers would live across the apartment in Mumbai. She and her husband really looked after Saif as well. For the girls (Soha Ali Khan & Saba Ali Khan) I was there," she ended her chat.

 

Currently, Saif Ali Khan is collaborating with Jr. NTR on the Telugu movie Devara, in which he plays a significant role. He'll also feature in the next action movie starring Siddharth Anand. Jewel Thief is the new title for the movie, which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, as first disclosed by a media source.
