Sonam Kapoor opens up on challenges and joys of motherhood!

One of the cutest pairs in the industry is actress Sonam Kapoor and her businessman spouse Anand Ahuja. They welcomed their son Vayu into the world in 2022, and together they are fantastic parents. Sonam recently talked on motherhood's joys and hardships, mom guilt, and self-acceptance in an interview.

 

In the same interview, she discussed dispelling the myth that working mothers are unmotivated.

 

Sonam Kapoor discussed the difficulties of parenthood with a newspaper in an exclusive interview. Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, the mother of a two-year-old kid, mentioned that feeling more like herself has been a positive adjustment in her life since becoming a mother.

 

Highlighting the difficulties of being a mother, the actress revealed, "I was pushed to a point where I had to accept myself because my whole body changed, my mental makeup changed and I was like if I don’t accept myself now for what I am, who I am and how my body has changed, it’s never going to happen. This is the time I need to understand otherwise I’m going to go down a dark hole. So, I just had to learn to be okay with who I am and where I am in my life.”

 

Sonam responded to questions about whether or not mom guilt exists and whether or not a person can ever be ready for parenthood by saying that a person is never ready for motherhood.

 

"Whether you’re a stay-at-home mother or a working mother, everyone goes through mom guilt. Whether you’re doing a load of laundry or you’re cooking in the kitchen or you’re doing an interview with someone, there will always be guilt," she further revealed.

 

The actress from Neerja stated that the most common fallacy regarding working mothers is that they don't care about their children and are just concerned with their jobs. She was speaking about dispelling this myth. "It’s not true. We care about our children enough to want to work," Sonam further added.
