Zoya Akhtar opens up on film Jee Le Zaraa after back-to-back delays!

Jee Le Zaraa has been one of the most anticipated movies since its official announcement. The road trip film, starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, was announced in 2021, but filming was postponed. Zoya Akhtar, the film's producer, recently provided a crucial update on the project and disclosed what was causing the delay.

 

In a recent media interview, Zoya Akhtar was asked about the status of Jee Le Zaraa. In response, Zoya explained that it was about coordinating the schedules of the three starring actresses, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, as well as director Farhan Akhtar. She revealed, "I think aligning the three of them, their dates, and Farhan, his dates."

 

During the same conversation, scriptwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar expressed respect for Alia Bhatt. He praised the actress for her recent on-screen roles, including Gangubai Kathiawadi. The writer specified, "Alia, today, is perhaps, if not the, then definitely one of the few finest actors." He went on to say that he thought she was the best, but he was being diplomatic to avoid upsetting other heroines.

 

Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby co-present Jee Le Zaraa. It was written by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. The film is produced by Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar.

Priyanka Chopra posted a photo of herself with Alia and Katrina during the announcement. She also wrote a poignant post on Instagram explaining how they came up with the movie.

 

She posted, “Katrina, Alia, and I enthusiastically met in February 2020, just before the world shut down, to discuss who we could trust to bring this vision to life for us and our choice was unanimous… Farhan and Ritesh, Zoya and Reema. We had all worked with @excelmovies and @tigerbabyfilms individually so this seemed perfect. It just so happened that Farhan was working on a female road trip movie at the same time! Talk about all the stars aligning!!”
