At the end of last year, Kate Beckinsale was not in the mood to let trolls ruin her day by making remarks about her weight. She retaliated against Instagram users who posted uninvited comments about her body.

“It’s not a criticism, but I think you’ve lost too much weight lately,” one person wrote on Tuesday, December 31, as per a media source.

Beckinsale reacted, “If it’s not criticism, it's a passive-aggressive, completely unnecessary opinion from someone I don’t know who knows nothing about my circumstances. So next time you feel like commenting on someone’s body, I suggest you keep it to your f–ing self.”

When a user suggested that she put on a few pounds, Beckinsale said, “Not all of us want t*ies like yours,” and to another who inquired, “What happened to K. Beckinsale?” she responded, “She’s dead. So please end donations and flowers to @refugecharity.”

“I watched my stepfather [director Roy Battersby] die quite shockingly; my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief quite quickly,” she clarified.

Beckinsale disclosed that she needed weeks of critical care after stress and anguish "burned a hole" in her esophagus, forcing her to vomit large volumes of blood. She mentioned how difficult it was for her to eat and how working on a film that dealt with the subject of her father's passing was extremely upsetting.

She informed the troll that she didn't care as much about what they or anybody else thought of her physique as she did about all the other issues in her life.
