Alan Cumming Takes the Stage: Your Guide to the 2025 BAFTAs!

On Monday, March 24, the British Academy revealed that Alan Cumming will host the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards in collaboration with P&O Cruises.
The event will be held on Sunday, May 11 in London's Royal Festival Hall, which is part of the Southbank Centre. Recognized for his contributions to theater, cinema, and television, Cumming is hosting the BAFTA TV Awards for the first time.
“We’re delighted that Alan Cumming will be hosting this year’s BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises,” revealed Emma Baehr, executive director of awards & content at BAFTA. “He will definitely bring a playful sense of mischief and fun to the ceremony, so audiences should expect the unexpected at Britain’s biggest celebration of TV.”
Alan Cumming has established a varied career in a variety of entertainment-related sectors. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Eli Gold in The Good Wife, which earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy as an executive producer, and he won a Tony and Olivier Award for his performance in Cabaret.
He became well-known more recently as presenter of The Traitors U.S., for which he received two Emmys and two Critics Choice Awards.
Among his many other acting credits are Spy Kids, The Good Wife, and GoldenEye. He is a great choice to host this year's BAFTA Television Awards because of his distinctive charm and wit, which have won over viewers all over the world.
In the UK, iPlayer and BBC One will both show live coverage of the BAFTA Television Awards. BritBox will also make the awards accessible outside in the Nordics, Canada, Australia, and the United States.
On Thursday, March 27, the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards nominations will be revealed. The Traitors UK, Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office, and Baby Reindeer are a few of the anticipated front-runners.
