Although Lauren Graham acknowledges that it is difficult to pull off another resurrection, she is aware that Gilmore Girls fans are clamoring for one. On March 10, Graham discussed the show's enduring influence in an interview with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast.

“How do you honor those people who have kept [Gilmore Girls] alive?” she questioned. “Is it giving them more? Is it doing what Reese Witherspoon is doing with Legally Blonde, Elle the prequel? Is this a Captain Marvel multiverse where you wanna follow whoever? Or do you try to go back?”

Starring Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore and Alexis Bledel as her daughter Rory, the original series lasted for seven seasons from 2000 and 2007. Later, in 2016, it was brought back to life as Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a four-part Netflix miniseries.

According to a tabloid, Graham has considered the show's future and thinks a holiday special could be the most practical course of action.

Lauren Graham stated that she wasn't attempting to sidestep the subject but that, given everyone's schedules and lives, she sincerely believed that a Christmas movie was the best practical choice.

Graham admits that a different strategy would need to be used if there were to be another resurgence. Rory's pregnancy announcement marked a significant cliffhanger at the conclusion of the Netflix miniseries. Graham is open to returning to her part if the chance presents itself, even if she isn't sure if another resurrection is the best course of action.
