After One Direction bandmate Liam Payne passed away on October 16, Zayn Malik feels ready to resume touring, but not anytime soon. The singer posted the updated tour schedule on Instagram on Wednesday, October 23, one week after the tragedy that befell the 1D family. The gigs were originally planned for October and November 2024 to promote his fourth solo album, Room Under the Stairs.

January 21 in Washington, D.C.; January 24–25 in New York; January 28–29 in Los Angeles; February 1 in Las Vegas; and February 3 in San Francisco are among Malik's upcoming gigs. However, Zayn's updated roadshow calendar does not include any dates in the United Kingdom, in contrast to his prior tour itinerary. Following his performances in the United States, fans in the singer's native nation would like to see more tour dates announced.

Zayn announced the adjustment in his tour plans on Instagram on Saturday, following Payne's death last Wednesday at the age of 31. “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the U.S. leg of the Stairway to Sky Tour,” he posted.

In an emotional letter, he also honored his former bandmate, writing, “Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you can hear me. I can't help but think selfishly that there was so many more conversations for us to have in our lives.” For helping him get through some of the "most difficult times" in his life, he thanked his late companion. Looking back on their teenage years as pop stars, the Pillowtalk vocalist revealed that Payne would always be there to comfort him with a comforting smile, letting him know he was loved, when he missed his home as a 17-year-old.

Zayn further revealed, “I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly.” The singer expressed that he'll cherish all the memories he shared with Payne and hoped for the departed musician to be at peace wherever he was now.
