Bollywood superstar Poonam Dhillon was recently robbed at her home in Khar, where jewels valued at Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and 500 USD (Rs 42,923) were taken. The thief was able to complete the crime while working at her house as a member of a painting crew that had been there throughout the holiday season. Poonam sometimes stays at the Khar property, which was targeted, but she mostly lives in Juhu with her son Anmol. One person has been taken into custody by authorities in relation to the crime.

According to a recent media report, Sameer Ansari, 37, was taken into custody by the Khar police on January 6 on suspicion of stealing valuables from the residence of Bollywood star Poonam Dhillon in Khar West. 500 US dollars, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and a diamond earring valued at Rs. 1 lakh were among the stolen items.

Ansari, who was a member of the painting crew that was at the actress's house from December 28 to January 5, exploited an unlocked cabinet that held the jewels. He saw the closet was open and took advantage of the situation to grab the goods. According to reports, Ansari threw a party for his teammates, which cost him Rs. 9,000.

When Anmol, Poonam's son, returned from Dubai on January 5 and discovered the missing things, the theft was discovered. He called his mother, and the management of the actress filed a police report after speaking with the domestic staff.

Ansari was arrested when he confessed to the theft while interrogating the painting crew.

In the meantime, Poonam Dhillon last appeared with Sonnalli Seygall and Sunny Singh in Jai Mummy Di.
