Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 gets censor clearance with 'No Cuts'!

The drama film OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi is scheduled for release on August 11th, 2023. The CBFC has awarded the movie an A rating and given it a 156-minute runtime.

 

OMG 2 has been the topic of discussion for the past few weeks because of problems the Central Board of Film Certification had with the movie.  The social comedy has finally received its censor certificate following all the negotiations with officials. The Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam-led film directed by Amit Rai has received the 'A - Adults Only' rating and has a 2 hour, 36 minute authorised runtime.

 

The cuts that the movie will need to make owing to censorship issues have been the talk of social media over the past few days. However, the movie won't be cut, according to our sources involved in the production. “After all the discussions, the film has been passed without any cuts. There are some scenes, dialogues and characters which have been modified bu the makers after discussion with the censor board members,” disclosed a source.

 

The OMG 2 team and the CBFC have been at war for the past two weeks, and the creative team has finally prevailed. "allegations regarding a delay in the film's release were circulating in gossip mills, but those allegations are untrue. As planned, OMG 2 will be released on August 11; the intensive marketing effort will start now. The trailer is anticipated to release in the next two days, according to the source.

 

The OMG 2 team had originally fought for a U/A Certificate, but after the revising committee demanded significant cutbacks to the narrative, the notion was abandoned. "The committee requested numerous edits for the U/A certificate, which hindered the film's plot. The film's creators decided to proceed with an adults-only classification because they didn't want to compromise the film's integrity. They have complied with the changes recommended by the board and will proceed with an A certificate, giving the audience an unaltered story-telling experience, the insider continued.
