On February 26, a fire broke out inside the cinema, interrupting Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava showing at Delhi's Select Citywalk Mall. A portion of the screen caught fire during the incident, which terrified the spectators. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
According to a media source, a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official reported that six fire tenders were sent to the area after the fire started at approximately 5:44 PM when Chhaava was being screened. Within ten minutes, the fire was contained, and there were no reported injuries.
A mall representative subsequently addressed the matter, according to the portal, claiming that they were aware of the short circuit at the nearby multiplex. They confirmed that no one was hurt and pledged complete cooperation with the multiplex crew and authorities. They further explained that regular operations at Nexus Select Citywalk were not impacted.
A media outlet claims that the police received a call regarding the fire, raising concerns that there might be people trapped inside. The fire was put out without any injuries being recorded after emergency personnel were promptly sent to the scene.

The movie, which stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal, has been doing remarkably well at the box office. The historical action drama focuses on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the founder of the Maratha kingdom, and is based on the Marathi novel Chava.
On social media, the creators formally revealed an important development in the meanwhile. For the Telugu-dubbed release of the movie, Maddock Films announced their partnership with Thandel producer Bunny Vas under the Geetha Arts label. The directors confirmed that, in response to public demand, Chhaava will be released in Telugu on March 7.
