Many people still carry
Irrfan Khan's memory close to their hearts, and a community in the Nashik district of Maharashtra has decided to honor his influence in a special way. As a loving tribute to the late actor, a neighborhood in Igatpuri has been renamed Hero Chi Wadi, or The Hero’s Neighborhood.
An endearing homage to
Irrfan Khan is revealed in a recent video posted on Instagram by a digital designer. To honor the late actor, the Patryacha Wada neighborhood in Igatpuri tehsil, close to the historic Trilangwadi Fort, has been renamed Hero Chi Wadi.
Khan, who owned a farmhouse in the area for about 15 years and made a lasting impression via his kindness, was deeply appreciated by the residents, which is why the decision was made, according to the caption of the post.
He did much more for the community than just provide tangible assistance. The late actor had contributed books and computers, provided ambulances, and made sure kids had sweaters and raincoats in inclement weather. He even provided funding for school buildings, which enhanced the educational opportunities available to nearby pupils.
Irrfan was more than simply a donor; he became involved in the lives of the villagers, taking them into his house, feeding them on the floor, playing guitar with them, and having meaningful conversations with them.
Irrfan Khan fought valiantly for two years against a neuroendocrine tumor before passing away in April 2020. His kids, Babil and Ayan, as well as his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, survive him. Even while his absence is greatly mourned, his remarkable contributions to cinema are preserved in a wealth of critically praised films and classic performances.
