Recently, director Imtiaz Ali talked about a unique decision he made when filming Alia Bhatt, Randeep Hooda's Highway: the iconic song Patakha Guddi was filmed before it was even recorded. Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda played the main characters in the 2014 movie, which told the tale of a lady who was abducted and eventually found freedom. The film's music, particularly Patakha Guddi, emerged as a key highlight.
Singing through the day and into the night, the Nooran Sisters recorded Patakha Guddi in a single, intensive session. Imtiaz Ali remembered how AR Rahman, who was out of the country at the time, instructed the two vocalists via video chat on how to set up the microphone and perform.
Additionally, Imtiaz recounted a humorous moment from that night of recording. The sisters sung the song in jest while staring at him because the word "Ali" appears in the lyrics. He said it was a wonderful and enjoyable experience in the studio because Jyoti Nooran even pointed at him during the chorus.
He continued by praising the Nooran Sisters' lively energy, describing it as nearly divine. He said that AR Rahman had foreseen this type of magic and that it was reflected in the outcome.
