This Friday, July 5, is the scheduled release date for the action thriller
Kill in India. Starring Tanya Maniktala,
Raghav Juyal, and debutante
Lakshya, this movie has been much anticipated since its 2023 Toronto International Film Festival debut.
Now, there's fantastic news: the
John Wick franchise's creators have preparations in place for an English-language version of the film, even before it opens.
A new media story claims that the popular
John Wick production companies, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, are working on a remake of the upcoming Hindi thriller Kill. Under 87Eleven Entertainment, Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young will direct the remake.
Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick, stated in a statement cited by the portal, “
Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I’ve seen recently.” He remarked that as many people as possible should watch the action scenes that Nikhil Nagesh Bhat directed.
In a joint statement, the makers of the Hindi adaptation of Kill also voiced their joy. They said that during the making of the film, they had dreamed of being loved by the global public, and seeing the chanting of people in North American theaters was a fulfillment of that goal.
The statement further read, “As we approach our global release, we are thrilled that 87Eleven Entertainment will produce a remake of our film in English. Partnering with Lionsgate, the award-winning studio behind genre-defining action movies, has been incredibly gratifying.”
The Hollywood remake was revealed before the release of the original film, so the producers continued, calling it unprecedented and a major win for Indian cinema. They admitted to feeling deeply honored.
