On January 8, 2025, the 77th Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards nominations were revealed. A nomination for the Michael Apted Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a First-Time Theatrical Feature Film has been made for Payal Kapadia. Payal's first work of fiction is titled All We Imagine As Light.
She has competition from Sean Wang for Dìdi, Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel for Armand, Megan Park for My Old Ass, and RaMell Ross for Nickel Boys. On February 8, 2025, the DGA Awards winners will be revealed.
All We Imagine As Light received a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globes 2025, and Payal Kapadia received a nomination for Best Director—Motion Picture.
