The latest celebrity to fall victim to the growing danger of deepfake videos is actor Vidya Balan. She is, nevertheless, acting quickly to address the problem. She has made it clear that she was not involved in the production or dissemination of the modified content, saying, "It does not reflect my views or work."

On Instagram, Vidya Balan addressed the issue by alerting her followers and admirers to the phony video. She released the deepfake video to spread awareness in addition to her remark.

“There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp, which appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic,” she penned.

Balan further revealed, “I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as it does not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content”. In her message, she used hashtags like #FakeAlert and #StayAware.

Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sachin Tendulkar are among the Indian celebrities who have previously been the targets of deepfake videos.
