Aamir Khan's Touching Tribute to Manoj Kumar at Prayer Meet!

The Indian film industry has suffered a great loss with the death of iconic Bollywood performer Manoj Kumar. As an artist, he was adored by everyone. At the age of 87, he died on Friday, April 4, 2025. His family honored the renowned actor during a prayer meeting today, April 6, 2025. Aamir Khan, one of the numerous celebrities present, apologized for not getting to meet the "true son of the soil."

 

Many celebrities, including Jaya Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Esha Deol, Prem Chopra, Rakesh Roshan, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, David Dhawan, and Aamir Khan, attended the late star Manoj Kumar's prayer meet. The PK actor engaged with the media throughout the function and talked kindly of the deceased soul.

 

Khan then apologized for not being able to meet him in his final moments. However, he was aware of the actor-filmmaker's declining health and maintained contact with his son Kunal. According to Aamir, Manoj Ji was an institution as well as an actor and director. “Aur vo itney kamaal k filmmaker they ki unki filmey dekh dekh ke mai seekha hu. (And he was such an incredible filmmaker that I have learned a lot by watching his movies.)” the Dil star expressed.

 

He further revealed, “Bada dukh aur afsoos hai mujhey ke mai boht milna chah raha tha. Mujhey pata tha unki tabyat theek nhi hai. Maine unke bete Kunal se bhi baat ki thi lekin mil nhi paaya, aur boht ye mujhey dukh rahega hamesha. (I regret not meeting him. I knew he was ill. I also spoke with his son Kunal but I couldn’t meet him and I this fact will always make be sad.)”

 

In an interview with the media, the producer of Laapataa Ladies added that he loved Manoj Kumar's work and that the industry was devastated by his death. He showed a great deal of love and respect for India, according to Aamir, who called him "one of the greatest filmmakers of India." He declared, "True son of the soil," adding that he was never given the chance to collaborate with the late Bollywood star.
