According to Kapoor, he never thought about obtaining U.S. citizenship, even though he is married to Anupama Patel, who was born in the United States, and has three American-born children.

 

He reaffirmed his strong devotion to India over all other countries by sharing that he has never felt the need for a green card, while respecting his family's decisions.

 

The actor stated, "I will die before taking another country's passport. This country can throw me in a well, shoot me or doesn't give me anything, but I am compelled. I am loyal to my country."
