Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have been pals since they were little. The actress has previously disclosed that she asked him to marry her when they were young, but he turned her down. Varun recently talked candidly about the subsequent encounter. He revealed that he was beaten by Shraddha, and the situation was really "filmy."

In a recent media chat, Varun Dhawan recalled how Shraddha Kapoor took him to the mountains to proclaim her love when they were both eight years old. "What guy liked a girl at that age?" he said. The actor then described what transpired.

Varun recalled that Shraddha was wearing a dress and had invited him to her tenth birthday celebration. Three or four of the guys there were in love with the actress, he disclosed. Varun further revealed that the boys came up to him when he was playing on a jumping bag and inquired as to why he didn't like Shraddha. The Badlapur actor remembered telling them that he wasn't interested in girls, only in the dancing competition there.

According to Varun Dhawan, the men responded, ‘No, no, you have to like her.’ He shared that they started fighting with him and he was beaten up. “Usne pitwaya woh teen ladkon se kyunki main haan nahi bol raha tha (She made the three guys beat me up because I was not accepting her proposal).”

Varun added that he beat them back as well. He remarked, "It was a very filmy scene." VD went on to say that Shraddha placed third in the dancing competition, but he even won.

Varun Dhawan mentioned another event during the same chat that happened when Shraddha Kapoor was 15–16 years old and had grown really attractive. He disclosed that he had visited her school to play dandiya. VD revealed that while attempting to hide, he struck someone with a dandiya stick. In slow motion, he recalled Shraddha approaching him, looking gorgeous.

Varun further revealed, “Tab jaake mujhe ehsaas hua ki shayad maine kuch galti kar di (Then I realized that perhaps I had made some mistake).” But he said that he didn't make any mistakes because of what he would have done if he had been eight years old. Varun said in closing that he reestablished his friendship with Shraddha as a result.
