Soha Ali Khan recently disclosed that before she married actor Kunal Kemmu, her mother, the renowned actress Sharmila Tagore, had severely urged her against being married to an actor. Prior to their marriage, Soha and Kunal had been together for nine years.

A rare look into Soha Ali Khan's family life and the guidance she received from her mother was revealed during a media chat on January 25, the day she celebrated her tenth wedding anniversary with Kunal. The difficulties of being married to someone in the same sector worried Sharmila.

She felt that actors' large egos and mood swings may make married life challenging, even though she was married to famous cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Sharmila gave Soha straightforward advise: "Do whatever you want, but never marry an actor," Soha remembered.

Soha clarified her mother's worries by pointing out that actors go through emotional highs and lows and frequently become enmeshed in their own achievements or shortcomings. She clarified that their partners may find these mood fluctuations difficult to deal with after marriage. Sharmila cautioned that a couple's lives may become needlessly more stressful if they are dating someone in the same field.

In 2015, Soha married Go Goa Gone actor Kunal Kemmu in spite of her mother's reservations. Now, the couple has a contented and steady marriage with a small daughter named Inaaya.

Soha also considered how her upbringing was influenced by her parents' divergent personalities. She revealed that her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was never angry or irascible; he was always cool and collected. He was "cool as a cucumber," as Soha remembered, and she thinks she has inherited his calm demeanor.

She did, however, characterize her mother, Sharmila Tagore, as being more passionate and sensitive. She said her mother wasn't afraid to show her feelings and may be strict at times. Although Soha believes that her temperament is similar to her father's, she acknowledged that her husband Kunal has a special talent for making her angry, which occasionally causes mood swings at home.
