For many years, Indian actress Sonali Kulkarni has been involved in the entertainment sector. She is well-known for her excellent performances in films like as Chandu Champion, Singham, Dil Chahta Hai, Mission Kashmir, and others. The actress recently talked about how, at the age of 16, she experienced discrimination because of the color of her skin.

Sonali Kulkarni, a well-known actress who will soon be seen in the comedy-drama series Oops! Ab Kya?, remembers feeling ashamed of her dark skin. In an interview with a media outlet, she disclosed that when she went to try out for her first movie, people made fun of her skin tone.

The elderly actress went back in time and disclosed that she will be trying out for her debut movie directed by Girish Karnad. But as soon as she walked in, she noticed some elderly individuals and a few of her friends. Among them was a woman who was well-liked in the city. Sonali was asked, "Why are you here?" by the elderly woman.

The Bharat actress answered to the woman's inquiry by saying that the program she was attending encouraged girls in her age range to attend, as she failed to see the sarcasm in her remark. The woman soon glanced at Kulkarni and made a joke, “Don't you know that dark girls look really bad on camera?”

Sonali was shocked to hear that. “I was very vulnerable. I was all of 16 and I felt so embarrassed. I felt as if, why did I come here? I shouldn't have been here.” However, she felt more at ease after speaking with Girish Karnad.

Regarding her career, Sonali Kulkarni's upcoming film is Oops! Ab Kya? Unknown: On February 20, 2025, the new comedy-drama series will debut on Disney+ Hotstar.
