Arya Babbar's Emotional Response to Sikandar's Surname Change!

When Prateik Smita Patil failed to invite his father, veteran actor Raj Babbar, to his wedding with his wife, Priya Banerjee, the rifts in the Babbar family were made clear. The Sikandar actor said some time ago that he no longer uses his father's last name and has formally changed his name. Arya Babbar, Prateik's brother, responded to this recent event by saying, "Name change kar sakte ho wajood nahi (Name can be changed, not the identity.)"

 

In remembrance of his late mother, actress Smita Patil, actor Prateik Babbar has formally changed his name to Prateik Smita Patil. Popular Punjabi actor Arya Babbar, his half-brother, responded to this choice by saying that the Sikandar actor has full control over which of his names he wishes to retain and which he does not.

 

He further revealed to a daily, “Aap apna name change kar sakte ho, wajood nahi. Rahunga toh Babbar hi because wajood mera woh hi hai. Aap woh kaise change kar sakte ho? (You can change your name, but not your identity. I'll remain a Babbar because my existence is rooted in that. How can you change that?)".

 

The well-known TV personality went on to say that he will always be a Babbar, regardless of whether he wakes up tomorrow and adopts a different name from Arya Babbar. "I just have to say that Smita ma is our mother too," he concluded.

 

Prateik confirmed officially removing the 'Babbar' surname in a recent discussion. "Prateik Smita Patil is a powerful name, and his mother, the late Smita Patil, has a powerful legacy," he told the publication. "I am merely just embracing her power. I am the son of the late great legend Smita Patil," he expressed.
