One of the most renowned and well-paid actresses of her day is Meenakshi Seshadri. Damini and other movies from that era show how well-liked Meenakshi's on-screen relationship was with Rishi Kapoor. She and the late actor also had a close relationship.

The seasoned actress reminisced about her relationship with Rishi Kapoor as she prepared to make her comeback in Hindi cinema after many years.

Meenakshi Seshadri revealed that she felt comfortable around Rishi Kapoor in a media chat. In actuality, the deceased actor assisted her in setting up a Twitter account (now X).

"Rishi ji was that person with whom I shared 100 per cent comfort and could ask him what if I wanted to make a comeback. When I started my Twitter account, I asked Rishi to help me and pass on some of his followers to me, and he obliged," She continued by saying that Rishi Kapoor had never questioned her or offered an explanation.

The actress also mentioned how appreciative she would be of him.

Meenakshi Seshadri paid tribute to her Damini co-star, recalling that he would make everyone feel comfortable, including the actress. She also visited the home of actor Rishi Kapoor and his spouse, actress Neetu Kapoor.

“Rishi ji was amazing. He has worked with people of so many generations and made them feel at home, which he did with me. Sometimes we also shared people who were working for both of us and helping both of us," she remembered.

Meenakshi revealed that she would frequently visit his home because he resided in Pali Hill, which was close to her own. "I think he was the only actor with whom I could do that. I met him off-set and informally." the actress added.

The 60-year-old actress recalled that Rishi Kapoor would not get her dancing and related anecdotal evidence of this.

The actress recalled, "He used to say, ‘Kabhi kabhi tumhara dance mujhe samajh nahi ata. Tumhara Bharatanatyam kam karo' (Sometimes, I don't understand your dance. You should perform it less often)."

To put it simply, Meenakshi Seshadri is a classical dancer with training. She is proficient in four dancing styles: Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, and Bharatnatyam.
