Lara, the daughter of Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal, was born on June 3, 2024. The actor makes sure to spend all of his free time with his child, but his business obligations prevent him from spending enough time with them. As a result, he talked about having dad guilt for not spending enough time with the infant daughter in a media conversation. The fact that he didn't see or carry her that day further irritates him, he continued.

Director Atlee joined Varun Dhawan, Murad Khetani, and Kalees in a lighthearted conversation about their new film, Baby John, at a media chat. Throughout the discussion, the host asked the Bhediya actor if he was a father to his daughter Lara. Varun acknowledged having "hard dad guilt" at this point.

He said that although he feels awful since he keeps missing some of his daughter's activities, people talk about maternal guilt. The actor went on to discuss his hectic routine, which includes, among other things, getting up at four in the morning, finishing up job obligations, appearing in the media, conducting interviews, and promoting his movies.

He therefore rushes home to meet his wife, Natasha Dalal, and their daughter, Lara, whenever he has free time. He said, “I literally don't have a second. It’s very strange and I've never felt like this. I've never felt this kind of love in my life. I've never felt this kind of missing like I have. Maybe when I was very young, my parents left me and they went somewhere; maybe I missed them that badly. But right now, the way I'm missing her is strange; it's very strange to me because I've never felt this feeling before.”

The Student of the Year debutant revealed, ‘We have to be strong.’ But suddenly, the paternal emotions are coming into him, which is wrecking him. “At night, when I reach home and I'm like, ‘I didn't see her only today; I didn't carry her and that really buggers you up then a little bit.” But when he discussed this feeling with Atlee, he told him, “This is just the beginning.”

The release date of Varun Dhawan's Baby John is set for December 25, 2024.
