Amidst the ongoing wildfire in Los Angeles, Mandy Moore is grieving the loss of her Altadena community. On Wednesday, January 8, the 40-year-old star of This Is Us posted an update on Instagram, describing how the natural disaster has had a significant impact on her neighborhood.

“This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb,” She wrote over a video of buildings she saw while driving through the northeast region of Los Angeles that were charred and still burning.

Moore's community was undoubtedly impacted, even though it wasn't immediately apparent if her own house was as well!

She provided another update after her first Stories post, thanking people for keeping her family safe and detailing the devastation she saw.

“Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets),” she wrote. “Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family.”

Moore further added, “My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurant leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too. Our community is broken, but we will be here to rebuild together. Sending love to all affected and to those on the front lines trying to get this under control.”

Moore earlier revealed on Wednesday on her Instagram Stories that she and her family had fled and were unsure if their home had survived. The actress resides with her husband, 39-year-old Taylor Goldsmith, and their children, Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett, 2, August "Gus" Harrison, 3, and Loise Everett, 3 months.

Moore had just finished renovating their residence for six years. The actress frequently used social media to update her followers on the status of her project and to showcase her love of interior design. She disclosed in February 2023 that her nest's remodeling was almost finished and just needed the final touches.
