Barry Keoghan is scheduled to join the ensemble of Netflix's upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. He will star opposite Cillian Murphy, who returns as Tommy Shelby, and Rebecca Ferguson, who has recently joined the ensemble.
In June, Netflix approved a feature based on the hit television series
Peaky Blinders. Steven Knight, who created the original series, penned the screenplay for the film. He will also produce it with Caryn Mandabach, Cillian Murphy, and Guy Heeley.
Tom Harper, a well-known director, will direct the picture. Production is being done in partnership with BBC Films. The film, which stars a new and exciting cast, tries to continue the iconic Shelby family saga.
According to the website, Barry's role in the film has not been revealed, nor has Rebecca's. In June of this year, Netflix approved a cinematic adaptation of the popular web series, with Cillian reprising his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, the head of the Birmingham criminal family of the same name.
Director Knight is keeping the plot of his upcoming film under wraps, although he has disclosed that it will be set during World War II. Production is scheduled to begin later this year, heightening excitement for what promises to be an exciting plot.
