When Cara Delevingne dressed up and changed into Elton John for his iconic song, Step Into Christmas, she really killed it. When the song's most recent music video was released in 1973, it must have seemed to evoke nostalgia in those who enjoyed it.

According to reports, John and his partner, Bernie Taupin, wrote the song's melody. Although it peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Christmas Singles Chart, it only peaked at number 56 in the United States upon its release. According to a media outlet, this song received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in 2021.

Now that John has listened to the song again, he has given it a new interpretation, which also features the supermodel costumed as the famous singer. The makeup and costume team did a fantastic job, making sure that every element, including the clothing and even John's hairline, was appropriate for the song's prior music video.

According to the previously mentioned article, the Cold Heart singer claimed in a statement that he met Delevingne at Glastonbury last summer and they discussed how much they would love to collaborate if the appropriate opportunity arose.

He revealed, “She's hilarious to spend time with; we both have quite a self-deprecating sense of humor. When someone suggested the idea of her playing me in a riff on the 1973 'Step Into Christmas' video, I just thought it was the perfect opportunity. Thank God Cara thought the same because it came out great.”

The Suicide Squad star reportedly told, “To say his music has had a deeply profound effect on me is an understatement.” Being asked to play John in that recreation, according to Delevingne, was a fantasy she was unaware she had until it came true. According to the Paper Towns star, she could act like the seasoned musician every single day.

Delevingne said, “I hope that Elton may one day return the favor and agree to play me in my not-yet-developed, written, pitched, or funded biopic. Fingers crossed.”
