Fatima Sana Shaikh became well-known for her role as Geeta Phogat in the biographical sports drama film Dangal, which starred Aamir Khan. However, were you aware that the young girl had been given an epilepsy diagnosis while filming?

Fatima Sana Shaikh talked candidly about her epilepsy diagnosis during a media chat. She claimed that she learned about it during the Dangal shoot. She initially refused to acknowledge that she had a neurological condition since she was in denial. She didn't take any medicine because of this. “I was scared I might have an episode in front of people,” "There are many stigmas associated with epilepsy," she said.

The Dhak Dhak actress further specified, “I would get seizures once or twice a week, and the anxiety before events was overwhelming.” Speaking more about the disorder, she stated that although flashing lights don't always result in seizures, they are known to provoke epilepsy. As a result of her fear, she finally stopped going to screenings and gatherings. However, she ultimately made the decision to let the paparazzi know about my situation, and they were respectful and considerate of it. When she was nearby, the shutterbugs would be careful not to use flashlights. “Sometimes, my colleagues wouldn’t understand, but the paparazzi did,” she told expressing her gratitude to the media.

There are days when she just can't shoot, Fatima said in an interview with the magazine. There are days when her headaches are so bad that she can't work, and occasionally her attacks force shoots to be canceled. She acknowledged, however, that she might experience more seizures as a result of her irregular medicine use. “I didn’t want to take medicines; I was fighting not just with people, but also with the medication itself. I thought I didn’t need them to live a normal life,” the actress revealed.
