Son of Sardaar, which debuted in 2012, captured the hearts of viewers. Now, more than ten years later, the follow-up is expected to thrill fans once more. The original cast of the production included Mrunal Thakur as the female protagonist, along with Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. But according to current sources, Ravi Kishan has taken Sanjay Dutt's place in the movie because of issues he had getting a UK visa.

In Son of Sardaar 2, Sanjay Dutt was supposed to play Mrunal Thakur, Ajay Devgn, and the adversary. Sanjay Dutt's exclusion from the picture, which is being filmed in Scotland, is reportedly the result of his UK visa application being denied, which is connected to his previous incarceration, according to media reporting in a daily. The insider revealed that Dutt has also had trouble getting a visa to the UK in the past.

The insider also hinted that Sanjay Dutt's immigration problems would have an impact on Housefull 5's filming, which is set to begin in September in London. The insider clarified when asked if producer Sajid Nadiadwala would have to find Dutt a replacement, a source revealed, “Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”

Sanjay Dutt was arrested in April 1993 for breaking the Arms Act and TADA. He was eventually found guilty of the offense after obtaining illicit firearms from other bombing suspects in Bombay in 1993. He received a five-year prison sentence. In March 2013, the Supreme Court upheld his five-year conviction. Following multiple bail periods, he completed his sentence and was released in 2016.

Son of Sardaar 2 was supposed to have Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt reprising their roles as Billu and Jassi. There were rumours that the sequel would not continue where the first movie ended, but would instead begin anew.
