The romantic musical film
Saiyaara, directed by
Mohit Suri, has been a major box office success and a topic of conversation in the film industry. The movie, which marks the debut of
Ahaan Panday and
Aneet Padda, has not only won over audiences but also garnered significant praise from Bollywood's biggest stars.
One of the most notable reactions came from
Alia Bhatt and her husband,
Ranbir Kapoor. In a recent interview, director Mohit Suri revealed just how supportive the power couple was of his latest project and the new talent.
A Phone Call and a Personal Shout-out
According to Suri,
Alia Bhatt chose to watch the film in a public theater rather than at a private screening. After experiencing the movie with a live audience, she was so impressed that she wasted no time in personally reaching out to the debutants. Suri shared that Alia immediately asked for the actors' phone numbers and called them to praise their performances.
On her social media, Alia shared a heartfelt note, calling
Ahaan and
Aneet "two beautiful, magical STARS" and expressing her awe at their talent. She wrote, "I don't remember the last time I looked at two actors with such awe... You both shine with such individuality, such honesty." She also praised director Mohit Suri, her cousin, for creating a film that is "full of heart, full of soul."
The praise didn't stop with Alia. Mohit Suri also revealed that after watching the film with his wife, Ranbir Kapoor called the director himself. Ranbir, known for his own nuanced performances, was highly impressed with the film and its emotional depth. Suri quoted Ranbir as saying, "You have to make a lot of films. Slow down with your work now and enjoy."
This is not the first time Ranbir has shown his support for the film. He was recently spotted by paparazzi asking, "Saiyaara dekhi kya?" (Did you watch Saiyaara?), further solidifying his admiration for the movie.
The overwhelming positive response from industry veterans like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor is a huge boost for the newcomers and a testament to the film's powerful storytelling and performances. It’s a great example of how the Bollywood community supports new talent.
