Part One of Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt—When Shiva was released in 2022, it was a huge hit at the movie office. Audiences were left wanting more after the film's exciting teaser for Brahmastra: Part Two—Dev. Fans have been anxiously anticipating any updates regarding this epic saga's next episode ever since. Now that Ranbir Kapoor has released a significant update, enthusiasm has skyrocketed. He disclosed that after completing War 2, director Ayan Mukerji will begin pre-production on the much-awaited sequel.

The Animal actor gave the media an exciting update on Brahmastra: Part Two—Dev during a recent meet-and-greet between Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Mumbai. He told, "Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time—the entire story of Brahmastra. As you guys know, he is currently working on War 2. Once the film releases, he is going to start the pre-production of Brahmastra 2."

Fans were further reassured by Ranbir that Brahmastra 2 is still under development. "It is definitely happening. We haven't really announced much of it, but we will have interesting announcements coming regarding Brahmastra 2," he revealed.

The first part of a projected trilogy, Brahmastra: Part One—Shiva, was released in 2022 and sets the framework for a bigger cinematic universe based on Indian mythology. The narrative centers on Shiva (Ranbir), a young man with special abilities who embarks on a quest to discover profound cosmic mysteries and his own calling. Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna, and his wife Alia Bhatt all play significant roles in the movie.
