Baaghi 2 is worthy to watch once for Tiger Shroff and Randeep Hooda’s remarkable performances. !!

In Baaghi, Tiger Shroff had played the stubborn Ronnie, who embarks on a mission to save his ladylove from the baddies but this time, the risks are high for Ronnie, who is a Special Forces commando on duty in Kashmir. Baaghi 2 is an all-out action film with suspense and thriller elements. Baaghi 2 is another mass film from that list and eventually hits everything right for its audience.

 

As per story, Baaghi 2 is the story of a fearless rebel who undertakes a dangerous mission when his ex-girlfriend seeks his help. When Ranveer Pratap Singh aka Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) gets a call from his former girlfriend Neha (Disha Patani), who claims that her daughter has been kidnapped, Ronnie takes a leave of absence and sets off to trace and rescue the kid, despite the lack of evidence pertaining to her existence itself. On this journey, Ronnie has to deal with cynical cops, drug junkies and contract killers who are hell-bent on obstructing his personal mission. How Ronnie deals with these obstacles and saves the day, forms the rest of the plot.

 

Baaghi 2 begins on an exciting note. Ronnie’s entry as expected is quite clapworthy. One expects fireworks as soon as he lands in Goa to find the missing Rhea. Sadly, two songs are placed almost back to back. This dilutes the impact a bit. But the action scene in the police station brings the film back on track. There’s also unpredictability in the plot, which makes for a good watch. But the movie suffers due to lack of logic. The second half has more action sequences and this would assuredly impress the masses.

 

Tiger’s mature look with light stubble is loveable. Now, his image of action hero is intact. Disha Patani is ok with her limited opportunity. Manoj Bajpayee, who essays the top cop in Goa, seems decent in his efforts. Deepak Dobriyal is as usual while Prateik Babbar gets into the skin of his character. But, Randeep Hooda’s role as the joint-smoking cop LSD is impressive and enjoyable. Jacqueline Fernandez is quite sizzling in her item number.

 

About the film, Baaghi 2 is adapted from a Telugu movie Kshanam by Sajid Nadiadwala and the plot has potential but the execution is little lethargic. Jojo Khan, Abbas Hierapurwala and Niraj Mishra’s screenplay is twisted for no reason. It is obvious that not much thought has gone into the writing. Hussain Dalal’s dialogues are quite massy and entertaining. Ahmed Khan‘s direction is quite good and he manages to execute the movie in a simpler way.

 

Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran’s cinematography is remarkable. The aerial shots especially are quite well captured. Ram Chella, Lakshman Chella, Kecha Khamphakdee and Shamshir Khan’s action is quite enjoyable and the backbone of the movie. Rameshwar Bhagat’s editing is satisfactory.

 

Overall, Baaghi 2 is worthy to watch once for Tiger Shroff and Randeep Hooda’s remarkable performances.
