Sakshi Tanwar

Sakshi Tanwar (born 12th January 1973) is an Indian television actress. She is best known for playing the role of Parvati in the television soap opera, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii; the serial enjoyed tremendous popularity in India and abroad. Sakshi Tanwar was born in a middle-class family from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar is a retired CBI officer. She was educated in many Kendriya Vidyalayas (Central School) and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi. After her graduation she was preparing for the entrance tests to the administrative services and mass communications, when a close friend of her suggested that she should go and audition for the national broadcaster Doordarshan's film songs based program Albela Sur Mela; to her surprise she was selected and from there begun her journey towards Television. During her college days she was the secretary and president of the dramatic society.
